Lan Nguyen is the Children's Alliance lead staff on health, serving as the Health Policy Coordinator. In addition to working with the Health Policy Associate to implement the health agenda at the Children’s Alliance, she staffs the Health Coalition for Children and Youth, a broad coalition of organizations focused upon ensuring that all children in our state have access to comprehensive and affordable health coverage.

Before coming to the Children’s Alliance staff in January 2009, Lan spent two years as Legislative Aide to Speaker of the House Frank Chopp, learning first hand the intricacies of legislative process and policies. Lan has also spent time in the public health field with the Los Angeles County Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program as an Epidemiology Analyst, writing disaster preparedness and response plans in conjunction with other county agencies and local stakeholders.

Raised on Bainbridge Island, Lan holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles with a focus in epidemiology, as well as a Bachelors degree  in Political Science and Anthropology from the University of Washington.  She and her husband Jeff have one daughter.
