Seayoung works with the Early Learning team to advocate for racially equitable early learning policies at the state and federal levels. She provides administrative and program support to the policy staff, with a focus on the early learning work of the Children’s Alliance. Her experience working with young people includes caring for infants at a child care center to mentoring middle and high school students of color at programs such as YWCA GirlsFirst and Rainier Scholars.
Prior to joining Children’s Alliance she was involved in social justice efforts with a number of organizations in Seattle, often focused in Asian American communities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and a Certificate in Editing from the University of Washington. She writes plays after work and is a Seattle theatre fan.
