Tax Fairness
According to the Washington Department of Revenue, only three other states in the nation have household tax burdens that are more regressive than Washington's. Children should not pay the price of an unjust tax structure. Washington needs a fair tax system that distributes burdens equally, promotes economic growth and is accountable to the public. A fair state tax system would: provide appropriate and timely revenue, distribute the tax burden equitably, promote economic efficiency and growth, be easily administered, and hold business accountable for tax breaks and government accountable for programs that work. Meet our staff person who works on budget, tax and revenue issues, Jon Gould. Take Action Find out how you can act to improve the lives of children, and join our Children's Action Network.
