How it works.

Outreach workers are asked to take a few minutes to complete the contest documents for each new family they enroll—provided the family is willing to share its children’s health insurance story. Then, send the completed questionnaires to the Children’s Alliance.

The outreach workers who gather and submit the greatest number of family stories by May 1st will win. Families whose stories are submitted by the first, second and third place winners will be eligible to receive gift cards of $100 for Target or Safeway. Five families whose stories are submitted by the first place winner will receive gift cards, as will three families whose stories are submitted by the second place winner, and two whose stories are submitted by the third place winner.

If you would like large envelopes with postage included, please let us know. Submit your stories via e-mail or by mail or fax to:

Covering all kids

In 2007 the Washington State legislature passed the historic Cover All Kids law providing all kids in Washington access to health insurance.

The Children's Alliance is engaged in an ongoing project to ensure that the Cover All Kids law is successfully carried out and protected from future cuts.

The Sharing Stories project is part of that work. Through partnerships with outreach workers around the state we are gathering the stories of families and kids who benefit from the Cover All Kids law. This includes families that are newly eligible for state health coverage as well as children who were eligible but were only enrolled due to current outreach efforts.

We believe as policy makers see health coverage working for Washington families, they’ll fight to keep their promise to cover all kids.
