REGISTER FOR THE NANCY AMIDEI ADVOCACY CAMP

Join Children’s Alliance and United Way of the Blue Mountains/Elevate on Tuesday, September 23, to become a stronger advocate for children through the Nancy Amidei Advocacy Camp!

This one-day training is designed to inspire, educate, connect, and empower child advocates by sharing the knowledge and tools needed to drive policy change in Washington state.

At Advocacy Camp, participants will engage in interactive learning sessions to build and strengthen skills to engage in policy advocacy. Whether you are new to advocacy or have years of experience, this training will equip you with the resources, strategies, and confidence you need to create change in your community.

Where: SEATech Skills Center Multipurpose Room at 525 Campus Loop, Walla Walla, WA 99362

When: Tuesday, September 23, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Training Topics: 

  • Policy Advocacy through a Racial Equity Lens – Build a foundational understanding of racial equity concepts, learn how to analyze policy through a racial equity lens, and reflect on how your values impact your advocacy journey.

  • Developing your Key Message + Strategic Communications - Learn how to create, adapt, and deliver persuasive and impactful messages for issues you care about, bridge and pivot during disagreement and adversarial discussion, and leverage different types of media to advance your policy goal.

  • Building the Movement - Learn how to build and assess your advocacy plan for action, understand how to join and build coalitions, and understand your spheres of influence and how to capitalize on your connections.

There is no cost to register or attend this training. Lunch and snacks are provided.

Limited child care stipends and travel reimbursements are also available upon request.

Children’s Alliance partnered with Nancy Amidei, a visionary in political activism in Washington, to develop and facilitate these trainings from 1995 to 2019. We are grateful beyond words for her incredible contributions to Advocacy Camp.
