ADVOCATE VOICES
Join Children’s Alliance in advocating for the 1.7 million children in Washington state by sharing your story through our Advocate Voices Video Series!
Sharing your story is one of the most valuable, effective, and important forms of communication – it helps to persuade decision-makers, move people to action, and connect others to Children's Alliance's mission. Our goal is to amplify advocates’ stories about early learning and youth behavioral health through short videos shared on Children’s Alliance’s official social media accounts, in our email communications, and directly with your legislators.
Youth Behavioral Health – Impacts of Addictive Online Platforms: Research shows that excessive engagement with addictive online platforms, like social media, can increase the risk of behavioral health issues. Children’s Alliance is advocating for legislation to stop online platforms from exposing minors to harmful design features like addictive algorithms. We want to hear from you!
How have the children and youth in your life been affected by addictive online platforms, including social media?
How have addictive algorithms impacted their mental and behavioral health?
If you are a youth, how have these addictive algorithms impacted you personally?
Early Learning – ECEAP and Working Connections Child Care: Early learning programs are incredibly beneficial for Washington’s kids and families. Unlike K-12, however, state funding for early learning programs is not mandatory. Given our state budget shortfall last year, this led to $1 billion in cuts to early learning, and it remains at risk of further cuts and delays this session. We want to hear from you!
How have state early learning and child care programs like ECEAP and Working Connections Child Care made a difference for you and the children in your life?
