While both the House and Senate budgets include cuts to early learning, budget writers did reject a cap and a waiting list for Working Connections Child Care and protected current eligibility for the program. In addition to making sure these things remain true for the final budget, we are asking lawmakers to: 

• Adopt the House version of a new attendance-based payment model for providers who accept Working Connections subsidies, as it will be easier for providers to implement than the Senate version; 

• Maintain professional development funding for child care providers to help them meet quality compliance standards; 

• Include funding to implement the Millionaires Tax.
