Our state is home to many wealthy people. And they want the same things as the rest of us – like strong communities, good schools, and access to health care. But in terms of taxes, the wealthiest among us are not contributing at the same rate as those with low and middle incomes. Our state relies heavily on sales and property taxes, which hit working families hardest. The Millionaires Tax would be a significant step toward balancing our tax code. Revenue generated by the tax would support vital programs and services kids and families need - like health care and education - and it would also expand eligibility for the Working Families Tax Credit.
