Bio

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Walden (they/them) is a passionate advocate for youth literacy, LGBTQ+ rights, and community-based change. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, they founded a city-wide nonprofit in Austin supporting independent bookstores and have since worked with organizations focused on amplifying queer voice, reading accessibility, nonprofit journalism, and abolition of the death penalty. With a love for event planning and fostering connection, Walden approaches their work through a deeply rooted commitment to community-centered fundraising. Outside of work, they can often be found at your local indie bookstore, hosting dinner parties, or creating collage art from vintage magazines.
